Nashville radio is a cesspool. That’s not to say all the artists in it are bad, but the things it stands for and represents are. It is a homogenous breeding ground for the same cookie-cutter acts singing about trucks, beer and heartache. We get 10 HARDYs for every Kacey Musgraves, or a dozen Dylan Scotts for a single Shaboozey. These generic frat boys come and go, rarely leaving an impact on the scene.
Punk has transformed and grown as new generations have emerged but stayed true to its 1970s roots. Bands such as Pierce the Veil, Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, and Spiritbox have gained popularity spanning from 2010 to now. They have shaped and created the many sub-genres now beneath the punk umbrella. Today’s punk scene is experimental, inclusive, innovative, and paving the way for future decades.
The Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack has served its purpose: To enhance the films' nostalgia, connections among characters, connections between characters and audience, sense of adventure, and humor.
